In this episode, you learn one new English vocabulary, two popular English idioms, and their meanings and usages. This lesson is based on three 2004 romantic comedy Spanglish scenes.

  • Meticulous (with a focus on how Deb uses it to describe herself to Flor)
  • Be on the same page (with a focus on why Deb tries to convince her husband, John)
  • Show someone the ropes (with a focus on how Deb uses it)

Episode Summary 

In this lesson, you listen to the clips where the English vocabulary and idioms were used, and you get to understand the context of their usage. 

Then you listen to me explain their meanings with example sentences. Lastly, attempt a Quiz to help you confirm that you understand how to use them.
